About the Fuller Center

Our Mission

Building Homes, Restoring Hope

At The Fuller Center for Housing of Macon and Jackson Counties, our mission is simple yet powerful:
To provide decent, affordable housing for families living in poverty.

We believe that safe, stable housing is not a privilege—it’s a foundation for dignity, health, and hope.

Our vision is to build community and empower people through homeownership, helping families achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Rooted in faith and guided by compassion, we bring together volunteers, donors, and partners who share our belief that every family deserves a place to call home.

Formerly a partner with Habitat for Humanity, our organization transitioned to The Fuller Center for Housing to better align with a grassroots, community-driven approach to homebuilding and repairs. This change allows us to focus on the specific needs of families right here in Macon and Jackson Counties—while maintaining our core values of faith, partnership, sustainability, and service.

Together with our neighbors, we’re building more than homes—we’re building stronger families, thriving communities, and brighter futures.

How We Work

Faith in Action, Partnership in Practice

The Fuller Center for Housing is a grassroots, affordable housing ministry that builds and repairs homes through local covenant partners around the world.

We thrive on collaboration—with churches, schools, businesses, civic organizations, and volunteers—to create homes that are simple, decent, and affordable for families who cannot secure adequate housing by traditional means.

At the heart of our model is “partnership housing.” Homeowners are not recipients of charity—they are partners in the process. Families contribute their own time and effort, working alongside volunteers to build or repair their homes. This hands-on participation fosters pride, accountability, and a lasting sense of ownership.

Through this model, we live out our faith by serving others, offering a hand-up rather than a handout, and trusting that God will help us finish the work that we begin in His name.

History of The Fuller Center

A Global Movement with Local Impact

The Fuller Center for Housing was founded in 2005 by Millard and Linda Fuller, the same visionaries who created Habitat for Humanity in 1976.

After nearly three decades of leading Habitat, the Fullers sought to create a ministry that stayed true to its faith-based roots—focused on simplicity, sustainability, and compassion for those in need. Their vision was built on the principle of partnership housing—families and volunteers working side by side to build homes, communities, and hope.

That Christ-centered philosophy sparked a global movement dedicated to ending poverty housing. Today, The Fuller Center operates through more than 90 U.S. and 20 international Covenant Partners, each serving their local communities while remaining connected to the worldwide mission.

From Americus, Georgia—where it all began—to the mountains of western North Carolina, The Fuller Center’s impact continues to grow through faith, hard work, and love for our neighbors.

Millard Fuller passed away in 2009 and was laid to rest at Koinonia Farm in Georgia, where his vision for building homes for the poor first took root. His life’s work continues through the countless volunteers, families, and covenant partners, like The Fuller Center for Housing of Macon and Jackson, who carry his mission forward every day.
